Diana’s Bachelorette Weekend

I spent this past weekend celebrating the start of football season, and more importantly, my friend Diana’s bachelorette party. Although slightly more tame than what the movies portray, I had a really great time.

On Friday afternoon we went down to Sakonnet Vineyard, in Little Compton. The estate was huge, much bigger than the vineyards I’ve been to in Newport and Cape Cod. I am not a fan of wine, so I didn’t enjoy the act of tasting wine, but the café’s flat bread pizzas were very delicious and an appropriate portion size. I had a pesto, artichoke, and goat cheese flatbread; although I did taste the prosciutto, arugula, fig pizza and that was amazing as well. That night we went out to a couple of bars in Providence, like a typical weekend here.

On Saturday I met up with the group in Boston for dinner at Rigoletto Ristorante, where I had a very good lobster risotto. I arrived a little late due to traffic and poor time management, but luckily I didn’t miss anything nor mix up the schedule. After dinner we went to the Airbnb to drink a little before heading off on the booze cruise, where we joined at least 7 other bachelorette/bachelor parties.

Aside from the occasional sprinkling rain, and wind chill (I was quite cold this entire weekend- the flip flop between summer and fall temperatures), I really enjoyed being on the boat. I didn’t drink much because I had to drive back to Providence for work in the morning, but I also don’t think I would have been able to keep my balance with too many drinks. The waves were sometimes wobbly and I definitely needed to hold onto the pole or my friends for stability. I was concerned because Saturday nights are country music nights and that’s not really my style. However, a band performed the music and I think hearing live music makes a huge difference. There were few songs that I recognized, but I still enjoyed the atmosphere.

Sadly, I had to leave that night and missed Sunday brunch in Boston.

Overall, I had a really great time spending the weekend with my friends and am very excited for Diana’s wedding. I will definitely have more pictures and a blog to post about it in a couple of weeks!
